African American Pair
Packaged set of two paired 12” wooden rulers, made in U.S.A. of American-grown basswood.
African American Women Rulers also includes women who excelled in many areas: you’ll find writers, artists, musicians, scientists, aviators, political figures, an educator, a dancer and a chef. The image at the top of the ruler is Harriet Tubman (1820-1913), who escaped slavery and subsequently made some 13 missions to rescue approximately 70 enslaved people, using the network of antislavery activists and safe houses known as the Underground Railroad.
African American Rulers are women and men who contributed to American culture, with a heavy emphasis on the Abolitionist Movement of the mid 19th century and the Civil Rights Movement of the 1950’s and 60’s. The image at the top of the ruler is Frederick Douglass (1817-1895), social reformer, abolitionist, orator, writer, and statesman.
The two rulers are packaged together in a sleeve with a beautifully designed and printed backer card that provides additional information about the rulers and the images we’ve printed on them. The set makes a terrific gift!
