Great Musicians Pair

Packaged set of two paired 12” wooden rulers, made in U.S.A. of American-grown basswood.

Great Women Rulers of Music is a list of female composers, conductors, instrumentalists and vocalists. The image at the top of the ruler is of soprano Maria Callas (1923-1977), born in New York City to Greek immigrant parents, who became known as “La Divina”. Our illustration is inspired by a photograph taken of her in 1957 by English photographer Sir Cecil Beaton (1904-1980).

Rulers of Music is a list of composers, women and men. The image at the top of the ruler is Ludwig van Beethoven (1770-1827), one of the greats, who continued to compose even after he suffered significant hearing loss late in life. Our illustration is loosely based on an 1820 portrait by Josef Karl Stieler (1781-1858), now on display in the Beethoven House Museum in Bonn, Germany, Beethoven’s birthplace.

The two rulers are packaged together in a sleeve with a beautifully designed and printed backer card that provides additional information about the rulers and the images we’ve printed on them. The set makes a terrific gift!
